Men of all ages contribute in many ways to congregational life at St. Peter’s. Here are some of the ongoing activities of our informal men’s group.
Church Maintenance and Improvements
Our members help with interior and exterior church upkeep throughout the year. We also support church events such as the Advent Event and Yard Sales as well. Regular maintenance of the St. Peter’s labyrinth at the Sudbury Grotto of Lourdes is also a group contribution.
Meal Hosting
In February or March, we host our annual Shrove Tuesday pancake supper in the Heritage Hall, with serving assistance from members of the Lockerby Guides group that meets at the church. This meal precedes an Ashing Service, marking the beginning of Lent. A portion of the proceeds support the Guide camping program. We also host an annual Easter breakfast for those attending the Sunrise Service - providing food and fellowship for those staying for the later Easter service.
We always have a great time of fellowship, often including breakfast or coffee along with our work activities. We invite all men, young or older, to consider joining us.
