St. Peter’s and St. Paul’s Amalgamation

On February 15, 2013 John Milliken, Chair of St. Paul’s Church Council, in a letter to St. Peter’s Church Council, broached the idea of amalgamation with St. Peter’s. Subsequent discussions were held over the next few months culminating in an agreement to amalgamate.

At a special Congregational Meeting on June 23, 2013, the following motion was approved: That St. Peter’s United Church amalgamates with St. Paul’s United Church. On October 27, a closing service was held at St. Paul’s attended by many St. Peter’s members and on All Saints Sunday, November 3rd a welcome service at St. Peter’s marked the beginning of a wonderful amalgamation with the arrival of members of St. Paul’s. We gave thanks for the faithful ministry of the leaders and members of St. Paul’s and celebrated the new relationship.

A portrait collection of ministers at St. Paul’s has been placed in the Fellowship Hall, and St. Paul’s furnishings, artwork and chancel-ware are regularly used at St. Peter’s.
